Doctor Charged With Felonious Retaliation Against Nurses

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

They reported a doctor’s practice to the Texas Medical Board.  A west Texas physician has been charged with misusing official information to retaliate against two nurses who accused him of imporper medical practices and reported him to the state medical board.  The charge against Dr. Rolando Arafiles is the same one he leveled against the two nurses at  Winkler County hospital in Kermit Texas..

Authorities allege Arafiles believed the charges filed against Vickilyn Galle and Anne Mitchell would thwart the investigation of their complaints against him, according to an affidavit signed by an attorney general’s investigator in support of the arrest warrant.

Arafiles was arrested Tuesday night in Odessa Tuesday night in Odessa on single counts of misusing official information and retaliation both third degree felonies.  He was booked into the county jail in Kermit and freed on his own recognizance.   The Texas Medical Board filed a complaint in June that accused Arafiles of over billing patients, prescribing notherapeutic treatments, intimidating witnesses and using poor medical judgement and poor decision making.

The are serious charges and Dr. Arafiles should call me immediately.  A proactive, & aggressive criminal defense of these charges is the only way to win not only the battle in court, but the court of public opinion.
